The Golf Club at Indigo Run is a splendid 18-hole golf course showcasing a traditional, yet masterful design. Since its grand opening in 1996, this course has earned recognition as one of the nation's “Top Ten New Private Courses” by Golf Digest. This legacy of excellence persists today, characterized by a harmonious blend of challenges, including strategic hazards, doglegs, and opportunities for straightaway shots. The fairways offer spacious landing areas, while the greens are well guarded by bunkers, and water is in play on 12 holes. This course embodies the classic Jack Nicklaus design, often demanding a precise fade shot from the tee box on the left side. Lengthy drives won’t necessarily have an advantage here. Instead, finesse, touch, and imaginative shot-making are the keys to success on this course. “The Golf Club at Indigo Run is my first co-design with my son Jackie, and our goal has been to create the best golf course on Hilton Head Island,” says Nicklaus. “No limits were placed on the resources available to us, and the land we were given at Indigo Run is simply beautiful. We have taken every step possible to preserve the natural environment and the wildlife that flourishes at Indigo Run.” “Overall, the golf course is very traditional, and the combination of our ideas has resulted in a course that’s different from any I’ve designed before,” he adds. “The strategy and the green sites make the golf club a challenging and enjoyable course for both tournament and member play. I hope you will enjoy it for years to come.”
