Spanish Wells Golf Club is an exceptionally unique 9-hole golf course, originally designed by George Cobb. Most holes offer two sets of tees, effectively transforming it into an 18-hole course. Cobb's ingenious design ensures that each tee provides a distinct playing experience, with strategically placed obstacles like trees, lagoons, and numerous traps. The course follows a clockwise path, featuring several challenging right doglegs that demand lengthy tee shots to clear obstacles on the right. Spanish Wells welcomes a casual and relaxed atmosphere with no tee time restrictions. As such, walking is the preferred mode of play for many members.
Established in 1970 and originally designed by George Cobb, Spanish Wells Club underwent a comprehensive renovation in 2005 under the guidance of local golf course architect Clyde Johnston. This makeover included the addition of new tees, bunkers, greens, an irrigation system, and cart paths. Men play the white tees on the front nine and the blue tees on the back nine.
