Island West was crafted by the unique combination of Clyde Johnston and PGA Tour player Fuzzy Zoeller.  Situated within the contours of natural marshland, the course follows the terrain, unveiling a tapestry of rolling fairways and mature, stately trees. With Zoeller’s distinct influence, Island West was built as a playground designed for fun and joyful play, an ambition it easily achieves.  Water elements come into play on no less than 10 holes, offering numerous opportunities to weigh risk against reward. Precision off the tee becomes imperative on the many tree-lined fairways, but players get a breather on several holes with more generous landing zones.  Island West embodies what one would envision with Fuzzy Zoeller’s creative involvement. However, the strategic expertise of Clyde Johnston also weaves through the fabric of this course, resulting in a harmonious blend of playfulness and technical sophistication.

Signature Holes:

Hole 3: A challenging par 3 with a green well-guarded by water on the right and bunkers on the left.

Hole 6:  A true risk-reward hole, this par 5 offers a chance to reach the green in two for the long hitters. However, a large pond guards the front and right side of the green,

Hole 13: Another beautiful par 3 that features an island green with a club choice dependent on the wind that day.

Hole 18: The finishing hole is a strong par 5 with a slight dogleg right. A large water hazard comes into play on the right side of the fairway and in front of the green, making the approach shot critical..
