Known simply as the North Course and South Course, an exquisite pair of Tom Fazio-designed golf courses are the centerpiece of the community, and they are completely free from inner residences or roadways. Drawing inspiration from timeless designs of the 1920s, Berkeley Hall is reminiscent of renowned venues such as Riviera Country Club, Winged Foot, and Seminole. Guided by a layout that winds through an expansive coastal landscape framed by coastal grasses, the two courses boast striking changes in elevation, captivating water elements, and strategically daring bunkering that eloquently exhibit the architect’s craftsmanship.
The North Course is a classic parkland golf venue, adorned with grand live oaks, towering loblolly pines, blooming azaleas, and elegant crepe myrtles. The course is framed by the golden marshes of the Okatie River and features tree lined fairways, shimmering lakes, and boldly sculpted green complexes. “The North Course at Berkeley Hall is one of the finest and most dramatic courses I have designed,” says course designer Tom Fazio.
The South Course is more challenging, with dramatic elevation changes, water hazards, and strategically placed bunkers. “Berkeley Hall represents pure golf at its finest, a celebration of everything that is great about the game,” adds Fazio. “Every round feels like a walk in the park.”
In addition, Berkeley Hall provides members with an exceptional practice facility spanning 33 acres, including four short-game greens complete with replica bunkers, climate-controlled hitting bays, a “super bay” equipped with the latest Trackman 4 swing analytics technology, and a versatile mobile canopy allowing practice regardless of weather conditions. Members can also access transformative tools like AimPoint green reading, hailed by numerous teachers for its impact on their success. Complimentary weekly swing clinics, conducted by world-class golf professionals each Tuesday and Friday, are open to all members.
