The Course

Architect: Gene Hamm
Built: 1982

Whether you're a resident of Rose Hill, visiting on vacation, or planning a golf outing, Rose Hill Golf Club offers a golfing experience that is sure to delight. Established in 1982 and designed by the renowned Carolina architect Gene Hamm, this 18-hole championship course winds its way through the picturesque Rose Hill Plantation. The course is set amidst majestic live oaks draped in Spanish moss, tall pines, and tranquil lagoons, embodying the charm and beauty of the South Carolina Lowcountry.

The course features Mini-Verde Ultradwarf greens, providing an excellent year-round putting surface that ensures consistent playability. With its wide playing corridors and multiple tee options, Rose Hill Golf Club caters to golfers of all skill levels, offering both challenge and enjoyment. The course is designed to harmonize with its natural surroundings, creating an experience that is as aesthetically pleasing as it is fun to play.

Rose Hill Golf Club is well-equipped to meet the needs of every golfer. The facility boasts a grass driving range, a putting green, and two full-size par-4 practice holes running along the length of the driving range. An on-site Director of Instruction is available to help players improve their game, while a fully stocked golf shop and full-service restaurant add to the overall experience.

Signature Holes:

  • Hole 5: This challenging par 3 requires a precise tee shot over water to a well-guarded green. The surrounding trees and water hazards make accuracy essential, rewarding those who can land their ball on the green with a good birdie opportunity.

  • Hole 8:  A dogleg left that demands a well-placed tee shot to avoid the trees on the corner. The approach shot is equally critical, as the green is protected by bunkers and slopes from back to front, making it difficult to hold.

  • Hole 10: This 600-yard par 5 is one of the trickiest holes in the area. A true test of endurance and strategy, it requires three well-executed shots to reach the green. The fairway narrows as it approaches the green, with water hazards on both sides and bunkers protecting the entrance, making this a demanding but rewarding hole.

  • Hole 14 A picturesque hole framed by towering pines and draped in Spanish moss. The fairway is generous, but the approach shot must be accurate to avoid the water hazard that guards the left side of the green. This hole epitomizes the beauty and challenge of Lowcountry golf.

  • Hole 18: The finishing hole at Rose Hill Golf Club offers a thrilling conclusion to the round. A long par 4 with a slight dogleg right, it features a narrow landing area off the tee and a challenging approach shot to a green guarded by bunkers. The surrounding live oaks and lagoon create a stunning backdrop for this memorable closing hole.
